Welcome to the Neighborhood Church of Palos Verdes. Whoever you are and wherever you are on your faith journey, there's a place for you here. We are a warm and welcoming congregation and invite you to join us on Sunday mornings in our Sanctuary by the sea.
Worshiping God and Serving Others in the Spirit of Jesus
We are part of the United Church of Christ honoring the reality that each human life is precious and deeply loved by God. As a community of faith, we are empowered by the inclusive love of Jesus. We nurture faith development where all are encouraged to grow as disciples of the Christ of love and justice.
Sunday Morning
We celebrate Worship together on Sunday mornings at 10AM. Sunday School is available and Children's Choirs sing monthly. Families and young ones are welcome at both services.
We receive Communion on the first Sunday of every month. There is no dress code and we welcome you as you are. Our congregation wears a mix of casual attire and Sunday bests.
Greeters will be waiting to meet you at the large wooden doors in the center of the semicircular driveway. Ushers will assist you with bulletins and finding a seat. Listening devices are available, as are large print bulletins.
Services typically last about an hour, sometimes a bit longer if there is a Baptism or Communion. After the service, everyone is invited to join us on our seaside patio for Hospitality and friendship with refreshments and coffee.
Parking and Directions
We are located at 415 Paseo del Mar, in Malaga Cove in Palos Verdes Estates, right next to the Palos Verdes Beach and Athletic Club.
When visiting us, please take care to use one of the parking lots on either side of the building and avoid street parking. Designated handicap vehicles may park on the street between the openings of our driveway. In addition to the parking lot on the east side of the Church, there is a larger lot on the west end of the property.
Both parking lots have designated handicap spots reserved for vehicles displaying handicap placards. A section of the street on Paseo del Mar is also reserved for handicap access. The front doors are wheelchair accessible as is a smaller side entrance off of the semicircular driveway.
Childcare and Sunday School
Sunday School and Childcare are available every Sunday for infants through Junior High. Children begin in their classrooms on Sundays.
Sunday School and Childcare is held in Dennis Smith Hall. Nursery care is in Room 102, Preschool in Room 103, Kindergarten thru Second Grade in Room 203, Third thru Fifth grades in Room 204 and Junior High in the Cyclops Room. The library (off the side of the Sanctuary) is equipped with an audiovisual system should any parents with babies wish to observe the service from there.
